[ The story ]

First, the Baikal Spit: a narrow strip of sand with living Baikal crashing on one side and the mysterious Posolsky Sor lagoon on the other, keeping its silence and ancient legends. The water there barely reaches your waist, and locals say lights wander over it at night — fishermen or spirits.

The finale is the old lighthouse in Babushkin (formerly Mysovaya): rusted concrete frozen on the edge of Baikal, where the last keeper vanished under mysterious circumstances in the 1950s, and the light is said to switch on by itself.

We will walk through places where reality is thinner, the past won’t let go, and every stone holds a story — scary, beautiful and utterly absorbing.

Highlights:

— A candle at the lighthouse: we light a candle at its foot and everyone makes a wish. They say wishes come true here — but only the lighthouse knows the price.

— Abandoned piers: a walk over rusty structures, post-apocalyptic photos and the story of the last steamer that sank here.

— A water tower that looks like an abandoned church — one of the most photogenic spots in town.

— A “Lighthouse Keeper” certificate with a black seal, the coordinates of the spit, the lagoon and the lighthouse.

Who it is for:

Aesthetes, photographers and mystery seekers aged 25–40 who have already seen the classic Baikal and want its dark, forgotten, rusty and very beautiful side.

[ Logistics ]

Start and finish: Ulan-Ude.

Included: transfers, guesthouse accommodation, meals, guide, candles and rituals.

Not included: travel to Ulan-Ude, insurance.

Important: the lighthouse is abandoned and its stairs are shaky — the guide will belay you. The water tower is closed but well worth seeing from outside. The piers are rusty and slippery — wear hiking shoes. The lagoon is shallow but muddy — bring flip-flops. There may be no mobile signal on the spit.
